Welcome to Wellness Retreats costa rica

Wellness Retreats Costa Rica was founded over 10 years ago by a Costa Rican couple, our retreats are comprised of a small expert team capable of delivering the highest quality service.

We will help you to UNPLOG, DETOX , RESET and get back your LIFE, the one that you deserve! and we do this by providing you a complete diet, exercise and lifestyle philosophy guided by pur Certified Health Coach to help you achieve your health goals by combining our Lifestyle Pillars.

Wellness Retreats Costa Rica is located in the peaceful grounds of Marbella Beach in Costa Rica, a small rural town for surfers placed where the tropical jungle meets the crystal-clear waters.

Our accommodation is divided into three separate villas and the main house where the Cooking, Training and Yoga takes place. In this area, you can relax and enjoy yourself by the infinite pool with a jungle view.

Surrounded by nature and fresh air, our secluded venue offers the perfect setting for a holistic retreat. Just two hours away from the airport, our location is ideal to steer away from the hustle of your daily life in the city while you relax and renew your energy.

Our philosophy is based on Dr. Kim Ok Gwan, a master of acupuncture and oriental medicine, and Mark Sissons, Founder of the Primal Lifestyle, in which it is stated that our health is faltering as our modern diet strays away from that of our primal ancestors.

Yoga, Meditation & Pranayama

Yoga, meditation, and pranayama increase our connection between body, mind and soul. Relaxing the muscles with yoga as improving balance, endurance, flexibility and strength while allowing for a complete release of negativity, along with keeping your mind sharp, feeling yourself grounded, relieve stress and anxiety with meditation. This healing theraphies helps to improve cognitive performance and mindfulness.

Training Exercises, low level aerobic activity, HIIT, Play & Movement

Following the Primal lifestyle, it’s not necessary to go to a gym for a workout. Stay active and healthy by doing simple full body exercises in no more than 30 minutes.

We make working out simple, dynamic, and fun, using yoga, HIIT, movility exercises, Strength training, weight lifting, sprinting on the beach or low level aerobic activity is enough to keep a strong body

Recovery & Good Sleep

Proper recovery before, during and after workouts, to avoid over do exercise that can lead to chronic stress. Balance your workouts with enough rest and recovery.

Why? Because prolonged stress (yes, to much training leads to chronic stress) will make your body to adapt to training more poorly and you won’t be able to perform at your best, and you will not notice the benefits from it.

We also give special attention to quality sleep. Essential to refresh your energies and get rid of stress.  Is when your body recovers, heals, grows and prepares for a new day.

Nutrition, Intuitive Eating & 80/20 rule

Healthy and delicious nutrient-dense foods is a key aspect of a balanced body and mind. Have you heard the phrase “We are what we eat”?, well, we believe is totally true, 80% of your body composition is determined by what you eat!, food influences our physical, mental and even emotional well-being.

Lots of colorful vegetables, some select fruits (mostly seasonal fruits and berries), healthy fats (nuts, avocados, olive oil), fresh fish, eggs, herbs, spices, are part of pur daily meals. On the other hand we  avoid: Processed foods, sugar, soft drinks, grains, most dairy products, legumes, artificial sweeteners, vegetable oils, margarine and trans fats. Food free of hormones, and pesticides, will make the body detox naturally, reduce inflammation, and improve your immune system.

Learn how to apply the 80/20 rule that strive for 100% compliance with guidelines and maximum nutritional value of your diet, but to accept the imperfections and limitations of your food choices, and not want to be obsessed with perfection, as it will lead you to increase stress levels, which is no the main goal of a healthy lifestyle.

Healthy social relationships are vital to maintain good mental health. Spending quality time with other persons can be a great way to feel in peace, not only making you feel safe but also listened and understood.

Wholesome human interaction have a medicinal effect on our bodies, triggering a series of hormones that will fight stress and make you feel renew and full of positive energy.

This experience far exceeded our expectations! My partner and I traveled together to participate in this amazing retreat and were blown away. It was equally as relaxing and it was energizing and active. We feel a lot more confident in our surf skills with training from Trey and Indy and went from beginner to intermediate level in three days. We had so much fun and felt very comfortable and safe the entire time. They were so motivating and genuinely kind! Catalina and JC are phenomenal chefs and hosts. They both radiate positivity! You just feel better being around them and it helps that they are so generous with their time and level of care put into each meal. The food was absolutely incredible. It was hard to believe that it was healthy at times because each dish was so well prepared! The best way for us to be sure that everything was truly organic was the way we felt: clean, light, energized, and level headed. Everyday we felt better and better, despite how hard we worked our bodies during the activities. Cecilia is pure magic! Her energy is so connected to the earth and she has a beautiful way of spreading this to those around her that makes you feel centered. She tailored each yoga session carefully to accommodate all levels of those participating and ended each session with thought provoking messages during shavasana. We each had two Thai massage sessions with Ceci which were out of this world and left you feeling as if you were floating!

I started out 10 kilos heavier and with persistence on how I changed my cooking and eating habits and great coaching I have transformed my way. I have learned how to balance my life and desires to where I am now, 10 kilos lighter and with the desire to loose 10 more where I believe my body should balance itself.

From sleeping habits to food recipes and workout!

I am soooooo happy, finally I get to 21 day of detox, to be sincere i thought it was going to be really difficult to achieve 21 days changing completely my spots and food habits. For my surprise was completely the opposite. At the beginning my stomach start to take all out, this process take me 3 days, after those 3 days I started to feel much better, startes to feel more energy. Also after those 3 days I started to enjoy better my new workout. My body understand what i was doing. Passed the first 2 week I really feel different, my levels of energy where much higher. At that moment I told to my coach that I wanted to train a little harder and she change my training routine a little bit, only with that little change a started to see serious transformation in my body. I really appreciate her companionship during all this process because she teach me how I can improve and what I need to change about everything from sleeping habits to food recipes and workout.  She gave me a lot of really cool recipes to make at home, and also the challenges where really nice. She totally chance my way of choosing what I put into my body and how to workout without injuring my bod.

It was my third time for a heal and reset yoga retreat!

“It’s difficult to describe how wonderful this place is because you really have to experience it to fully understand. It was my third time for a heal and reset yoga retreat . This time I came with my brother and we were both amazed with the beauty of the place, the kindness of Cata, JuanCa, Doña Jetty and who is there is so kind and Cata is an amazing host, yoga instructor and coach.Now, let’s talk about the incredible food. I’ve never had such incredible food, every meal, 3 times! I used to believe that eating healthy never could be tasty or enjoyable, boy I could not be more wrong!. The chef JuanCa is amazing and they showed us how to prepare our favorite meals.
We returned home yesterday with a few extra pounds less, feeling great from the inside out and I am so glad that I was able to spend enough time there to incorporate new habits into my life style and the most important thing feeling great physically, mentally and spiritually. I’m already trying to schedule a time so I can return to this little slice of heaven”

The retreat all in all was AMAZING!

The retreat all in all was AMAZING. Cati, her hisband and Yaco are sooo nice it was really impressive. I think it is one of the first times I get such great attention to details and finesse to their services. The habitation is impeccable, super clean and modern while still homey. The food was incredible and super healthy. The surf lessons with Yaco were top-notch. I jumped to another level just in a few classes and felt super secure. He also takes time to really analyse your technic and gives really good tricks. The yoga was very relaxing after a good surf session. All in all 5 stars and more!!! Also, be sure to expect surprises from Cati she is the sweetest!!
